I am a building
I am abandoned
I am called ugly
Paint from a can
Some call it Graffiti,
I call it my rebirth
Some call it ugly
I call it my rebirth
Some call it beautiful
So do I
Some say I am beautiful
This blog is just about stuff I do , stuff I see here and there … just stuff.
Knitted some cute dolls .. This is Obi, he likes Autumn trees and … licorice
Then I decided I like ‘steampunk’ so did some:
Steampunk Goth … or … Gothic Steampunk whichever you prefer. They all have to have wings and a tail … why? because I said so. 🙂
I have so much art and craft ‘stuff’ in my house. Thought I would seek out another residence …
Perfect except the rent was far too high … never mind. Decided to go shopping instead; that retail therapy thingy we do.
It is amazing who comes along when you are feeling a little down (I so wanted that house). All it takes is a look and ones spirit lifts … thank you friend …
What other stuff is there? … mmmmm … oh yes …
Build a Bear shop. Wandered in there still feeling cheered, felt better still when I saw this cutie but then … oh dear …
Poor empty Ted. Saggy … baggy … Ted. No stuffing … no stuff! I felt like taking him over and asking them to give him some life until I saw how they get ‘born’ oh oh, whooooosh up you know where … no thanks … gave him a pat and told him to stay where he was, even hide if he can.
o.k. rambled on about stuff so from a new found friend and myself I say, happiness and fun to you all. I have no idea what he is supposed to be … but … who cares, fun is fun …Adios …
A stroll on the beach … at night … in summer. A glow on the sand caught my attention. As it grew brighter it caught my … full attention. Grains of sand moved … shifted slowly this way then … the other. Was I afraid? … oh yeh!
They rose slowly … silently. I wanted to run … but couldn’t, I was … mesmerized. They rose high without apparent threat … I calmed down, fear settling into curiosity.
I waited … waited to see what their next move would be … there wasn’t any. They just stood and … glowed … how nice.
New computer, loss of photos … AGAIN … settling back in and catching up with friends left me no time for my blog. Tonight I have decided to get something up and running.
Lost my photos again but I have a feeling it was the old computer. I put the camera card into the old computer and began loading the photos into whatever program I chose. It was not long before an error came up and nothing loaded. I put the camera card back into the camera and it says it needs formatting. I tried my recovery program on the this new computer and I have retrieved some, enough I guess, to feel it is better than nothing although I have lost all the videos. Unless of course it is the camera? Anyways, not to worry …
I stayed in Leidschendam where my Daughter is; which is a town and former municipality in the province of South Holland of the Netherlands. Along with Voorburg and Stompwijk, it is part of the municipality Leidschendam-Voorburg. Very near Den Haag (The Haig) Late spring brings nature to life so let me start with ‘Mother’s and their babies’. I couldn’t believe how many photos I took of ducks!
FACES: I managed to continue on with my faces. This journey of faces is turning into something amazing. For a start each one has its own story (for writing as some stage). Being away and being with my lovely grand girls who were very interested in the process and are budding artists themselves of course wanted to help Nana with the drawing. At first I thought ‘no’ then I realised that this is a special time and it is liking itself to a ‘diary’ so we all enjoyed input, either with some drawing or naming. Each face whether it is good or a complete disaster has a memory and a story of where I was, how I was feeling etc. Here are a few and trust me many of these are complete disasters but they can be ‘notes to self’ of what I can do better and also a jumping off point if I wish to take a particular face and story further.
Bruno’s garden is another piece of heaven on this earth. I was going to tell the story of Bruno, his amazing work, the devastation of the horrific fire that ripped through his heaven on 7th February, 2009 and the strength of mind, body and soul that Bruno possesses to rebuild all over again.
I visited his gardens a couple of weeks ago. I cannot begin to describe the joy and tears of seeing it redone. I took over one hundred pictures but then decided to just give you the website of Bruno and his garden so you can understand the beauty and the devastation and the beauty that has risen from the ashes.
Here are a few of my pictures to whet your appetite….
Visiting his site is the story of Bruno and his garden. Not only is he a brilliant artist he is one of the lovelies people I have ever met.
That is the end of this series of my friends beautiful garden. They have planted thousands of trees to bring the cattle land back to nature and nature’s wildlife has come in their droves. Many species of birds enjoy the bird baths scattered around the gardens. Kangaroos resting peacefully or keeping watch, wombats allowed to make their homes and rent them out if they want. Ehidnas, ducks, frogs and of course deadly snakes. The snakes are a part of natures plan but as long as they stay outside they are safe although one thought he was guarding the back door not so long ago and wasn’t letting anyone in or out. Little kitty kat was brave and would have tackled him but she would have been no match so snake so she was contained and snake had to learn to stay away from doors. Huntsman spiders and others are warned to stay outdoors but they don’t always listen. They are removed peacefully. I just run. Snakes I can deal with, huntsmen spiders…no way.
I hope you have enjoyed this beautiful haven my friends have created.
Autumn foggy morn
Tranquil garden scene
Time to meditate
Painting a picture
In the early foggy morn
Autumn calms the mind
New autumn garden
Gives out energy
As autumn begins
Natures beauty astounds us –
Replenish your soul
giving out her beauty as
autumn fog rises
She lies among green
Not alone, not despondent
Dreaming of beauty
Summer daisies bloom
In celebration of
